A pool just by itself is a good thing but a swimming pool with some accessories is a great thing. A few of them that come immediately to mind are diving boards and slides. How about floats and lounge chairs and lets not forget a poolside spa!

Why not let someone else clean your pool? Now you can if you get one of the many available automatic self-cleaners. They have their own filter system and plug in to a 110 outlet and have a tangle free tether. They use a flotation and navigational steering device to completely clean your pool in about an hour and a half.

One of the most important aspects of pool life is safety. Every pool should have a first aid kit readily available and also a 15 foot reaching pole to assist swimmers in need of help. It also wouldn't hurt to have a life buoy attached to some rope as well. A book on CPR could come in handy if no one actually knows it.

A diving board is another good addition to your pool. It will create many hours of fun and laughter as your family and friends do cannonballs and can openers into the deep end! They are usually 6 feet to 10 feet in length and are made from tough non-skid acrylic that is laminated to some kind of wooden board.

A slide would be great fun for the kids and maybe some adults too. There are slides available specifically for toddlers thru young teens. They range in height from 3 feet to 7 feet and come in a tube shape as well. If more excitement is needed, then get the one that is shaped like a corkscrew and is 11 feet high! Most slides will be water assisted to help reduce friction on the way down. Some have their own pumps and others you can rig with your existing pool pump.

Why not add a cabana to your inground pool? It will allow your guests to change into their bathing suits with privacy and not have to walk across the lawn so everyone in the neighborhood can see them. You may even be able to add a bathroom and a wet bar to make it a real private oasis and great party area. You're going to need pool lights and lounge furniture and don't forget the poolside refrigerator and barbecue grill. Oh yes, no cabana is complete without some form of television or stereo. When it comes to swimming pool accessories, you're only limited to your imagination!
